In the wake of heavy rains induced by Typhoon Gaemi, significant progress has been made in restoring essential services in Zixing City, located in central China’s Hunan Province. Authorities announced that road, electricity, and telecommunications services have been largely reinstated in most villages.
According to officials at a recent press conference, electricity and communication lines have been resumed in 183 administrative villages. However, relief efforts continue as teams work tirelessly to restore road access to 19 villages, power supply in 24 villages, and telecommunications in 31 villages.
Emergency response teams have delivered a total of 300 metric tonnes of relief supplies to the affected areas. The operation has seen the evacuation of 695 residents to safety, and 515 individuals have received medical treatment as a result of the flooding.
Local authorities emphasized their commitment to reaching the remaining affected villages and fully restoring all essential services. As relief efforts continue, the community remains hopeful for a swift return to normalcy.
