On December 6, 2023, environmental enforcement officers from the Xiamen Municipal Ecological Environment Bureau conducted a significant inspection at a rubber manufacturing company in Xiamen, Fujian Province. The routine check aimed to ensure compliance with China’s stringent environmental regulations, pivotal in safeguarding the nation’s commitment to building a “Green China.”
During the inspection, officials meticulously sampled and tested exhaust gases emitted during the company’s production processes. The results revealed that non-methane emissions at one of the monitoring points exceeded the limits established by the “Emission Standard of Air Pollutants for Xiamen” (DB 35/323-2018). This finding indicated a violation of Article 18 of the “Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Atmospheric Pollution.”
In response to the violation, the Ecological Environment Bureau of Xiamen imposed a fine of 123,435 yuan on the company and ordered immediate corrective actions to bring emissions within the legal standards. This enforcement action underscores China’s rigorous approach to environmental protection and its commitment to holding industries accountable for pollution.
