Heavy Rainstorms Prompt Emergency Flood Response in Southern China
China’s State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters on Monday initiated a Level-IV emergency response in three provinces as intense rainstorms continue to batter the southern regions of the country.
The affected provinces include Guangdong, Hunan, and Jiangxi. To bolster flood prevention efforts, an additional team has been dispatched to Guangdong to assist and guide local operations.
The headquarters is also maintaining a Level-IV emergency flood control response in Fujian, Guangxi, Zhejiang, and Guizhou provinces, reflecting the widespread impact of the severe weather conditions.
In a bid to support those affected by the floods, an urgent shipment of 10,000 emergency kits for families has been sent to Fujian and Guangdong. These kits are designed to provide comprehensive aid for local resettlement and relief initiatives.
The ongoing heavy rainfall has raised concerns about potential flooding, prompting authorities to take proactive measures to safeguard communities and infrastructure. Residents in the affected areas are advised to stay informed about weather updates and adhere to safety guidelines issued by local authorities.
