China has announced new carbon emission reduction targets for its cement industry, marking a significant move toward a low-carbon economy. The country’s cement sector is set to undergo industrial renovation and equipment upgrades to achieve these goals.
Between 2024 and 2025, China aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 13 million tonnes in cement production. This plan was outlined in an action plan released by government departments, including the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), China’s top economic planning agency.
