Amid the lush bamboo groves of southwest China’s Sichuan Province, panda cubs Bao Yuan and Mao Mao have captured hearts as they indulge in a bamboo feast at the Dujiangyan base of the China Conservation and Research Center for Giant Pandas (CCRCGP).
The charming footage, provided by iPanda—a 24-hour live stream dedicated to pandas—shows the young bears enthusiastically munching on their favorite plant, offering a delightful glimpse into their daily routines. Born in August 2021, Bao Yuan is the offspring of Bao Bao, a panda who once resided at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C., strengthening the bonds between China and the United States through wildlife conservation. Mao Mao, also born in August 2021, is the cub of Shui Xiu, adding to the lineage of pandas nurtured by the CCRCGP.
The Dujiangyan base is a testament to China’s commitment to preserving its national treasure, the giant panda. The CCRCGP, as a leading institution in panda breeding and conservation, plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the species. It actively fosters international collaboration, partnering with 18 zoos across 16 countries, 39 domestic breeding institutions, and more than 10 scientific research institutes. These efforts not only contribute to the survival of the giant panda but also enhance global awareness and cooperation in wildlife conservation.
Visitors and panda enthusiasts worldwide can share in the joy of these playful cubs through live streams and updates, highlighting the importance of conservation and the beauty of nature that transcends borders.
