Veteran Nepali climbing guide Kami Rita Sherpa has once again etched his name into the annals of mountaineering history by scaling Mt. Qomolangma for a record-breaking 29th time. The 54-year-old reached the summit of the world's highest peak at 8,848 meters above sea level on Sunday at 7:25 a.m. local time, guiding a group of foreign climbers.

"Kami Rita Sherpa made history on Sunday morning by climbing the peak 29 times," confirmed Khim Lal Gautam, the field office chief of Nepal's Department of Tourism, speaking from the base camp.
