North China’s Hebei Province has unveiled its first all-season bird-watching map at the Hengshui Lake National Nature Reserve. The map, designed for tourists and bird enthusiasts, highlights the diverse avian species that inhabit the reserve throughout the year.
Hengshui Lake, a haven for both migratory and resident birds, is home to over 300 bird species, including endangered ones such as the oriental white stork and the saunder’s gull. The new map provides detailed information on bird habitats, migration patterns, and the best observation spots for each season.
“We aim to promote eco-tourism and raise awareness about wildlife conservation,” said a representative from the nature reserve. “This map will help visitors appreciate the rich biodiversity of Hengshui Lake while encouraging responsible bird-watching practices.”
The initiative is expected to attract global bird watchers, researchers, and travelers seeking unique natural experiences in Asia. By offering comprehensive guidance, the reserve hopes to foster a deeper connection between people and nature, contributing to conservation efforts and sustainable tourism in the region.
