At least three people were killed on Thursday as violent storms, including a suspected tornado, ripped through parts of Indiana and neighboring Ohio.
The fatalities occurred at a trailer home park in Winchester, Indiana, approximately 70 miles (113 km) northeast of Indianapolis, according to media reports citing state police.
The National Weather Service stated that while they could not confirm a tornado touchdown in Winchester, it was “likely” based on the damage and images provided by residents on the ground.
The destructive storms were part of a severe weather system that stretched from northeast Texas to Ohio. Several small towns near Winchester also suffered heavy damage from suspected tornadoes.
