Renewed Yellow Fog Alert Issued Across Parts of the Chinese Mainland

The National Meteorological Center of the Chinese mainland renewed a yellow alert on Tuesday for thick fog affecting several regions. Early morning fog is expected to blanket parts of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong provinces, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and Chongqing Municipality.

According to the Center, visibility in some affected areas may drop below 200 meters, posing potential hazards for transportation and daily activities. Motorists are urged to reduce speed and exercise caution on the roads, while airports, expressways, and ferry terminals are advised to implement safety measures to mitigate travel disruptions.

China employs a three-tier, color-coded warning system for dense fog, where red signifies the most severe conditions, followed by orange and yellow. The yellow alert indicates moderate conditions but with significant impacts on visibility and transportation safety.

Residents in the affected regions are encouraged to stay informed about weather updates and adjust travel plans accordingly. The persistent fog underscores the importance of preparedness and adherence to safety guidelines during seasonal weather changes.
