Hefei’s Swan Lake Shines as 2026 Spring Festival Gala Sub-Venue

Hefei’s Swan Lake has emerged as a symbol of urban harmony, blending ecological preservation with cultural vitality. The park’s swan-wing-shaped shoreline now hosts crowds drawn to its shimmering waters and meticulously landscaped gardens, offering respite from city life while celebrating Anhui Province’s natural beauty.

As one of the sub-venues for China Media Group’s 2026 Spring Festival Gala, the site recently showcased Hefei’s cultural legacy through performances of Lu Opera and Chaohu folk songs. This recognition highlights the city’s growing prominence in China’s cultural landscape, building on its 2,000-year history as a Jianghuai cultural hub.

"Swan Lake represents how modern cities can honor tradition while embracing sustainable development," said a CMG event coordinator during final preparations last week.

Urban planners note the park’s dual role as ecological sanctuary and community space has driven a 40% year-on-year increase in tourism since 2025, with new pedestrian corridors connecting historical sites to commercial districts.
