Giant Pandas Thrive in Hainan, Captivate Global Audience

Two beloved giant pandas have become ecological ambassadors at Hainan Tropical Wildlife Park, enchanting visitors with their playful antics while showcasing China's wildlife conservation achievements. Shun Shun and Gong Gong, who arrived in 2023 from Sichuan Province, now serve as living symbols of cross-regional environmental cooperation.

Park staff report the pandas have developed distinct personalities since their relocation. "Shun Shun's meticulous bamboo peeling technique has become a visitor favorite," said park spokesperson Li Wei. "Gong Gong's afternoon acrobatics consistently draw crowds, especially when he attempts to reach higher branches."

The pandas' Sichuan-sourced diet and specially designed habitat demonstrate China's commitment to species preservation. Their popularity has boosted Hainan's ecotourism sector, with visitor numbers increasing 35% this year compared to 2024.

Conservationists highlight the pair's role in raising awareness about habitat protection. Recent behavioral studies conducted at the park are contributing to global giant panda research, with findings scheduled for publication in early 2026.
