China’s 5th Consumer Expo Set to Boost Global Trade Ties

The State Council Information Office today unveiled ambitious plans for the 5th China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE), confirming its opening in Hainan Province this April. Vice Minister of Commerce Sheng Qiuping revealed the expo will showcase innovations in green technology and sustainable consumer goods while fostering Southeast Asia's role in global supply chains.

Over 710,000 square meters of exhibition space will host representatives from 59 countries and regions, with Hainan Vice Governor Gu Gang emphasizing the event's role in promoting the island's development as a free trade port. A record 1,300 new products are expected to debut through 130+ business matching forums.

Analysts note the expo will serve as a critical platform for cross-border partnerships, particularly in smart manufacturing and digital services. 'This underscores China's commitment to creating shared growth opportunities,' Sheng stated, highlighting plans for streamlined customs processes to facilitate international participation.
