CPPCC Members Engage Media on Economic Priorities at Beijing Session

BEIJING – Members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the country's top political advisory body, addressed public concerns and fielded media questions during a high-profile session at the Great Hall of the People on Thursday. The dialogue focused on China's economic roadmap, cross-strait relations, and innovation-driven growth strategies.

At the Members' Corridor, a forum designed to enhance transparency, CPPCC representatives emphasized the importance of stabilizing foreign investment channels and expanding international partnerships. 'Our focus remains on fostering high-quality development that benefits all stakeholders,' stated Li Qiang, an economist and CPPCC member specializing in regional trade policies.

The discussions also touched on the Taiwan region, with multiple members reiterating support for enhanced economic and cultural exchanges across the strait. 'Strengthening collaboration in sectors like semiconductors and green technology can create shared prosperity,' noted Wang Xiaoyu, a technology sector advisor. The dialogue avoided divisive political rhetoric, instead highlighting practical cooperation frameworks.

Cultural preservation initiatives and sustainable tourism – key themes aligning with traveler interest in Asia’s heritage sites – were also discussed. Educational reforms to address skill gaps in emerging industries received particular attention from policymakers, signaling potential opportunities for academics and investors.
