Firefighters Serve Lunch to Earthquake Survivors in Xizang’s Dingri County

More than a week has passed since a magnitude-6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on January 7. As resettlement and reconstruction efforts continue, the community spirit shines through in the most heartfelt ways.

Our correspondent, Zhao Chenchen, visited Cuo'ang Village in Quluo Town, Dingri County, where members of the Xizang Forest Firefighting Special Operations Unit have taken on more than just their firefighting duties. Amid the recovery efforts, these brave firefighters are preparing lunch for the quake-affected villagers, providing not only meals but also comfort and support to those in need.

The firefighters have been working tirelessly, assisting in various aspects of the relief operations. From clearing debris to setting up temporary shelters, their dedication goes beyond the call of duty. By cooking meals for the villagers, they are helping to restore a sense of normalcy and community in the aftermath of the disaster.

Villagers expressed their gratitude for the firefighters' kindness. \"Their support means a lot to us,\" said one resident. \"They are not just helping us rebuild our homes but also lifting our spirits.\"

As the region continues to recover, stories like these highlight the resilience and solidarity of the people in Xizang. The collaborative efforts between local residents and emergency responders underscore the strength of community bonds during challenging times.
