Firefighters Prepare Lunch for Earthquake-Affected Villagers in Xizang’s Dingri County

Over a week has passed since a magnitude-6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on January 7. Resettlement and reconstruction efforts are actively underway, bringing together communities and aid workers in a collective effort to rebuild.

In the heart of Cuo'ang Village, Quluo Town, the firefighters of the Xizang Forest Firefighting Special Operations Unit have taken on a new role. Our reporter, Zhao Chenchen, visited the village to witness these dedicated firefighters as they prepared lunch for the earthquake-affected villagers.

The aroma of freshly cooked food mingled with the crisp mountain air as firefighters chopped vegetables, stirred pots, and served meals with warm smiles. Their efforts provided not just nourishment but also comfort to residents who have faced significant hardship since the quake.

One villager expressed gratitude, saying, \"The firefighters have been a beacon of hope for us. Their support reminds us that we're not alone in this difficult time.\"

The collaboration between the firefighters and the local community embodies the spirit of resilience and solidarity. As reconstruction continues, such acts of kindness play a crucial role in healing and rebuilding lives.

The Xizang Forest Firefighting Special Operations Unit's initiative reflects a broader commitment to supporting those in need, showcasing the strength and unity within the region.
