Over a week has passed since a magnitude-6.8 earthquake shook Dingri County in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on January 7. The tremor left many homes damaged and disrupted the lives of countless residents.
Amid ongoing resettlement and reconstruction efforts, a group of dedicated firefighters from the Xizang Forest Firefighting Special Operations Unit have been lending a helping hand in Cuo'ang Village, Quluo Town. Not only are they assisting with recovery efforts, but they are also preparing meals for the affected villagers.
Our reporter, Zhao Chenchen, visited the village to witness firsthand the compassion and solidarity unfolding in the aftermath of the disaster. The firefighters have set up makeshift kitchens where they cook hot meals, ensuring that the villagers receive nourishing food during this challenging time.
\"We want to do everything we can to support the community,\" said one of the firefighters. \"Preparing meals is just a small way to show that we're here for them.\"
The villagers expressed heartfelt gratitude for the assistance. \"Their help means so much to us,\" said a resident of Cuo'ang Village. \"It's not just about the food; it's about knowing that we are not alone.\"
As the region continues to recover, the collaborative efforts between officials, rescue workers, and local communities highlight the resilience and unity of the people in Xizang.
