It's been more than a week since a magnitude-6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on January 7. As resettlement and reconstruction efforts continue, acts of kindness are bringing hope to the affected communities.
\nAt Cuo'ang Village in Quluo Town, Dingri County, the brave firefighters of the Xizang Forest Firefighting Special Operations Unit are doing more than just disaster relief—they're nourishing both body and spirit. Our reporter, Zhao Chenchen, visited the village to witness these heroes preparing lunch for the villagers, highlighting a heartwarming example of community solidarity.
\n\\"It's important for us to not only help rebuild but also to support the villagers in their daily needs,\\" said one of the firefighters. \\"Cooking meals is a small way to bring comfort during these challenging times.\\"
\nAmidst the ruins, the aroma of freshly cooked food fills the air, offering a semblance of normalcy and warmth. Villagers gathered to share the meal, expressing gratitude for the firefighters' dedication and compassion.
\nReconstruction may take time, but with such acts of kindness, the road to recovery is paved with hope and unity.
