Firefighters Cook Lunch for Quake-Affected Villagers in Xizang

More than a week has passed since a magnitude-6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on January 7. As resettlement and reconstruction efforts continue, stories of resilience and community support have emerged from the affected areas.

In Cuo'ang Village, Quluo Town, Dingri County, the firefighters of the Xizang Forest Firefighting Special Operations Unit are going beyond their call of duty. They've taken it upon themselves to prepare lunch for the villagers, bringing warmth and comfort during these challenging times.

Our reporter, Zhao Chenchen, visited the village to witness firsthand the dedication of these firefighters. Amid the ongoing reconstruction, the aroma of freshly cooked meals mingles with the sounds of rebuilding, symbolizing hope and solidarity.

The firefighters' efforts extend beyond physical assistance; they are fostering a sense of community that is vital for the villagers' emotional recovery. By sharing meals, they provide not just nourishment but also a reassuring presence that helps residents cope with the aftermath of the disaster.

As the region continues to heal, such acts of kindness highlight the resilience and unity of the people in the Xizang Autonomous Region. The collaborative spirit between the rescue teams and the villagers paves the way for a swift and hopeful recovery.
