Firefighters Cook Lunch for Earthquake-Affected Villagers in Xizang

More than a week has passed since a magnitude-6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on January 7. As resettlement and reconstruction efforts continue, stories of solidarity and compassion emerge from the affected areas.

At Cuo'ang Village in Quluo Town, Dingri County, firefighters from the Xizang Forest Firefighting Special Operations Unit have taken on a new role. Amidst the challenging circumstances, they are preparing lunch for villagers who have been displaced by the earthquake.

Our reporter, Zhao Chenchen, visited the village to witness the firefighters' efforts firsthand. Standing over steaming pots and makeshift kitchens, the firefighters skillfully cook meals, ensuring that the villagers receive warm and nourishing food during this difficult time.

\"In times like these, it's important for us to support the community not just by providing emergency response but also by taking care of daily needs,\" said one of the firefighters. \"Preparing meals is one way we can bring some comfort to the villagers.\"

The villagers expressed their gratitude for the firefighters' support. \"They have been a great help,\" said a local resident. \"Not only did they assist during the earthquake, but they continue to look after us as we rebuild our lives.\"

The resettlement efforts in Dingri County highlight the resilience and unity of the community. With the combined support of emergency responders and local residents, there is hope that normalcy will soon return to the region.

The Xizang Forest Firefighting Special Operations Unit continues to work tirelessly, embodying the spirit of service and dedication. Their actions demonstrate the profound impact of solidarity in the face of adversity.
