It's been more than a week since a magnitude-6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on January 7. As resettlement and reconstruction efforts continue, stories of solidarity and support are emerging from the affected communities.

At Cuo'ang Village in Quluo Town, Dingri County, firefighters from the Xizang Forest Firefighting Special Operations Unit have taken on a new role: preparing lunch for the villagers.

Our reporter, Zhao Chenchen, visited the village to witness firsthand how these firefighters are aiding the community not just through rescue efforts but also by ensuring that villagers receive hot meals during this challenging time.

With smiles and determination, the firefighters gathered local ingredients to cook nutritious meals, bringing comfort and warmth to those who have lost much in the earthquake. The aroma of freshly cooked food filled the air, offering a semblance of normalcy amidst the ongoing recovery efforts.

Villagers expressed their gratitude for the support, noting that the firefighters' assistance goes beyond their duty, reflecting a deep sense of community and solidarity.

As reconstruction progresses, the collaborative efforts of rescue teams and local residents continue to highlight the resilience and unity of the people in Xizang Autonomous Region.
