More than a week has passed since a magnitude-6.8 earthquake shook Dingri County in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on January 7. At the heart of this community's healing are the brave firefighters of the Xizang Forest Firefighting Special Operations Unit. In Cuo'ang Village, Quluo Town, these dedicated individuals are going beyond their call of duty. Not only have they been assisting in search and rescue operations, but today, they are donning aprons and preparing a warm meal for the villagers who have been affected by the quake.
\"We want to ensure that everyone feels cared for during this difficult time,\" said Captain Wang Li of the firefighting unit. \"A hot meal can provide comfort and a sense of normalcy amidst the chaos.\"
The villagers gathered around as the aroma of simmering soup and freshly cooked rice filled the air.
