More than a week has passed since a magnitude-6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County in southwest China\'s Xizang Autonomous Region on January 7. As resettlement and reconstruction efforts continue, the spirit of community and resilience shines through.
In the small village of Cuo'ang, located in Quluo Town, the Xizang Forest Firefighting Special Operations Unit has gone beyond their call of duty. Not only are they assisting with recovery efforts, but they\'re also bringing warmth to the villagers by preparing hearty meals.
Our reporter, Zhao Chenchen, visited Cuo'ang Village to witness firsthand how these dedicated firefighters are making a difference. Amid the backdrop of damaged homes and ongoing reconstruction, the aroma of freshly cooked food fills the air, offering a sense of normalcy and comfort to the affected residents.
\"We want to do more than just fight fires,\" said one of the firefighters. \"By cooking for the villagers, we hope to lift their spirits and show that we\'re all in this together.\"
The villagers expressed their gratitude for the support. \"They\'ve been a great help,\" said a resident of Cuo'ang Village. \"Their kindness gives us hope and strength to rebuild our homes.\"
The efforts of the firefighters embody the communal solidarity prevalent in Xizang, reflecting a united front in the face of adversity. As reconstruction progresses, the collaboration between residents and responders continues to inspire resilience throughout the region.
