Firefighters Bring Warmth to Quake-Hit Xizang Village Through Homemade Meals

It has been more than a week since a magnitude-6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on January 7. As resettlement and reconstruction efforts continue, stories of compassion and solidarity emerge from the disaster-stricken region.

In Cuo'ang Village, Quluo Town, Dingri County, firefighters from the Xizang Forest Firefighting Special Operations Unit are not only assisting with rescue operations but also bringing comfort to villagers by preparing meals. Our reporter, Zhao Chenchen, joined these dedicated firefighters on the frontline to witness their efforts in bringing warmth to the local residents through hearty, home-cooked meals.

\"The earthquake has disrupted the lives of many here,\" said one firefighter from the unit. \"We hope that by preparing meals, we can provide some warmth and relief to the villagers during this difficult time.\"

Villagers gathered as the firefighters cooked, their presence bringing a sense of normalcy and community spirit. The simple act of sharing a meal became a symbol of hope and resilience in the face of adversity.

As reconstruction progresses, the collaboration between rescue teams and local communities continues to strengthen, highlighting the unity and compassion that define the human response to natural disasters.
