Firefighters Bring Warmth to Quake-Affected Villagers in Xizang

Over a week has passed since a magnitude-6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on January 7. Resettlement and reconstruction efforts are still underway as the affected communities work towards rebuilding their lives.

In the midst of these efforts, firefighters from the Xizang Forest Firefighting Special Operations Unit are bringing warmth and comfort to the villagers of Cuo'ang Village, Quluo Town. They have taken on the role of not just rescuers but also caregivers, preparing lunch for those impacted by the quake.

Our reporter, Zhao Chenchen, joined the frontline to observe these acts of kindness. The firefighters, known for their bravery in battling forest fires, are now channeling their dedication into supporting the local community. With makeshift kitchens set up amidst the backdrop of the mountainous region, they prepare hot meals to ensure the villagers have nourishing food during this challenging time.

The sight of uniformed firefighters cooking and serving food brings smiles to the faces of the villagers, offering a moment of solace and camaraderie. This gesture not only fulfills a basic need but also strengthens the bond between the rescue teams and the community they serve.

The collaborative spirit in Cuo'ang Village reflects the broader resilience of the people in Xizang. As reconstruction progresses, the united efforts of residents and first responders highlight the enduring strength and solidarity within the region.
