More than a week has passed since a magnitude-6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on January 7. The residents of Cuo'ang Village in Quluo Town are still grappling with the aftermath, as resettlement and reconstruction efforts continue.
Amidst the challenges, a team of firefighters from the Xizang Forest Firefighting Special Operations Unit has brought a ray of hope to the villagers. Our reporter, Zhao Chenchen, joined them on the frontline as they prepared lunch for the quake-affected residents.
\"We are here not only to assist with rescue operations but also to support the daily needs of the villagers,\" said one of the firefighters. \"Preparing meals is a small way we can bring comfort during this difficult time.\"
The sight of firefighters cooking and sharing meals has uplifted the spirits of many in the community. \"Their help means a lot to us,\" shared a local resident. \"It's reassuring to know we are not alone.\"
The collective efforts of the firefighters and villagers embody the resilience and solidarity of the people in the face of adversity. As reconstruction progresses, such acts of kindness continue to foster hope and unity in Dingri County.
