As the world prepares to welcome 2025, CGTN is hosting a spectacular global New Year’s Eve relay, bringing together celebrations from Asia and beyond. The event features live broadcasts from diverse locations, highlighting unique cultural festivities and shared hopes for the New Year.

In Turkey’s Ortaköy Square, viewers can immerse themselves in the enchanting scenery of the Bosphorus Strait and experience how Turkish people embrace the New Year. From the Gaza Strip, voices from a region marked by conflict express hopeful wishes for a ceasefire and peace in the coming year. In Kenya, the African spirit of celebration adds a vibrant rhythm to the global relay.

Back in Beijing, traditional lion dance performances light up the 798 Art Zone, showcasing the rich heritage of Chinese New Year customs. In Arxan, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the Wulanmuqi Art Troupe captivates audiences with performances, interactions with fairy tale characters, and a dazzling fireworks display.

The celebration continues in Xi’an, where the CGTN Hanfu Studio collaborates with young enthusiasts and musicians for a Hanfu-themed event, reviving ancient Chinese traditions. Young Chinese from around the world contribute short videos, sharing their personal New Year celebrations and connecting the global Chinese community.
