Guangxi’s Longest Sea-Crossing Bridge Ready to Open for Traffic

The Longmen Bridge in south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is set to open for traffic, marking a significant milestone as the region’s longest sea-crossing bridge.

Stretching an impressive 6,597 meters in length, the bridge features a main navigation span of 1,098 meters. Designed as a single-span steel box girder cable-stayed structure, it meets the navigation requirements for 20,000-metric-ton cruise ships.

While the bridge stands as an engineering marvel, its construction was not without challenges. The project team overcame significant obstacles to bring this monumental structure to fruition.
