China Showcases National Intangible Cultural Heritage in First-of-its-Kind Exhibition

China’s rich tapestry of intangible cultural heritage is taking center stage at the nation’s first-ever exhibition dedicated to preserving and showcasing these invaluable traditions. Located in the Nanxun District of Huzhou City, eastern China’s Zhejiang Province, the exhibition offers visitors a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the living history of Chinese culture.

Anchored by CGTN’s Gasthoori Manickam and reporter Chen Lanyou, the exhibition brings together over 100 representative pieces from national-level intangible cultural heritage projects. These exhibits hail from 11 provinces and autonomous regions, including Zhejiang, Hebei, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Jiangsu, Fujian, Hunan, Guangdong, Sichuan, Yunnan, and Shaanxi.

The Intangible Cultural Heritages of China Exhibition Hall breathes new life into ancient traditions, presenting them with fresh ideas and modern perspectives. Visitors can explore historic cultural districts with a “heritage + tourism” twist, bridging the gap between the past and the future. The exhibition not only showcases the beauty of Chinese heritage but also fosters a deeper understanding of the cultural threads that weave together the nation’s diverse regions.

This groundbreaking exhibition is a testament to China’s commitment to preserving its intangible cultural heritage and making it accessible to people from all walks of life. Whether you are an academic, a cultural enthusiast, or a traveler seeking authentic experiences, the exhibition offers a captivating journey through the heart of China’s living traditions.
