The city of Turpan in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is set to host the 2024 Xinjiang Tourism Development Conference and Xinjiang International Travel Agent Conference on May 27. Organized by the People’s Government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the event aims to showcase the region’s rich cultural heritage and tourism potential.

Attendees will include representatives from foreign embassies in China, domestic tourism and cultural enterprises, international travel agents, and members of the cultural and sports sectors. The conference presents a unique opportunity for industry professionals to network and explore new avenues for collaboration in Xinjiang’s burgeoning tourism industry.

One of the key highlights of the conference will be the announcement of new policies by China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism to promote tourism consumption in Xinjiang. These initiatives are expected to invigorate the local economy and enhance the region’s appeal to both domestic and international tourists.

Turpan, known for its historical Silk Road connections and stunning desert landscapes, provides a picturesque backdrop for the conference. Participants will have the chance to experience firsthand the unique attractions of the area, from ancient ruins to traditional Uygur culture.

As Xinjiang continues to develop its tourism infrastructure, events like the 2024 Xinjiang Tourism Development Conference serve as pivotal platforms for fostering growth and showcasing the region’s potential as a premier travel destination in Asia.
