As the rotating president of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for November, China has convened a high-level meeting to address the Palestine-Israel conflict. Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and foreign minister, has traveled to New York to chair the session.
The meeting aims to bring together international stakeholders to discuss solutions to the ongoing tensions in the Middle East. China’s leadership in the Security Council comes at a critical time, as the conflict has intensified, leading to significant humanitarian concerns.
As the Security Council’s president, China seeks to facilitate discussions that could lead to a ceasefire and pave the way for long-term peace initiatives.
