As the conflict between Israel and Gaza enters its 36th day, the humanitarian crisis continues to intensify. The Gaza Strip faces mounting casualties, with nearly 11,000 people dead, including 4,000 children. In Israel, the death toll stands at approximately 1,400 during the same period.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported on November 10 that over 50,000 people have fled from northern Gaza to the south through “humanitarian corridors” announced by the Israeli military. The total number of UN-managed shelters across the Gaza Strip has reached 151, accommodating approximately 742,000 displaced individuals, according to OCHA’s real-time data.
The mass displacement and escalating violence have exacerbated the already dire conditions in Gaza. Access to essential services, including medical care, clean water, and electricity, remains severely limited. Aid agencies warn of a looming humanitarian catastrophe if immediate action is not taken to address the crisis.
Efforts by international organizations to broker a ceasefire have yet to yield results, as tensions between the parties remain high. The global community continues to call for restraint and the protection of civilians amidst the ongoing conflict.
