Flying Tigers Return to Beijing to Mark 80th Anniversary of WWII Cooperation

The historic Flying Tigers, an American volunteer group that assisted the Chinese mainland in resisting Japanese forces during World War II, have returned to Beijing. On October 30, a delegation comprising members of the Flying Tigers and their families visited the capital to participate in a significant event marking the 80th anniversary of the U.S. 14th Air Force’s engagement in the war.

The Flying Tigers played a crucial role in breaking Japan’s blockade, fostering a deep-rooted friendship between the Chinese and American people. Their brave efforts not only contributed to the war against Japanese aggression but also laid the foundation for enduring ties between the two nations.

During their visit, the delegation reflected on their experiences and the historical significance of their contributions. Chinese media personality Tian Wei conducted exclusive interviews with the group, capturing their sentiments towards the Chinese people and the lasting bond formed eight decades ago.

The commemoration serves as a reminder of the collaborative spirit and shared sacrifices that define Sino-U.S. relations. It highlights the importance of remembering history to strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation in the present day.
