Over 11,000 Dead as Palestine-Israel Conflict Enters Second Month

The Palestine-Israel conflict has entered its second month, with the death toll surpassing 11,000. More than one-third of those killed are reported to be children, underscoring the severe humanitarian impact of the ongoing hostilities.

On Friday, the Israeli army stated that it had attacked an ambulance allegedly being used by Hamas fighters. The incident has raised concerns over the safety of medical personnel and the adherence to international humanitarian laws during the conflict.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that there could be no temporary truce in Gaza unless Hamas releases the hostages taken during its attacks on October 7. “There will be no ceasefire without the return of our hostages,” Netanyahu emphasized, reflecting the conditions set by Israel for any pause in the fighting.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Joe Biden indicated potential progress toward a humanitarian pause. When asked by reporters on Saturday about developments regarding a pause in the conflict, President Biden responded affirmatively but did not provide further details. The international community continues to advocate for a cessation of hostilities to allow for the delivery of aid and relief to affected civilians in Gaza.
