Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region Braces for Heavy Downpours from Typhoon Doksuri

Residents of China’s Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region are preparing for severe weather conditions as Typhoon Doksuri moves northward after making landfall in east China’s Fujian Province on Friday morning.

Meteorologists have issued warnings of extreme rainfall and a high risk of disasters in the coming days. Beijing has escalated its emergency response, issuing a red alert for torrential rain on Sunday.

In anticipation of the heavy downpours, many scenic spots and parks in Beijing have been temporarily closed. Authorities have also suspended all indoor and outdoor sports events to ensure public safety.

According to the National Meteorological Center, Typhoon Doksuri is expected to bring the heaviest rainfall to the region this year, with potential for floods and landslides in certain areas.

Residents are advised to stay indoors, avoid unnecessary travel, and keep abreast of updates from local authorities. Emergency services are on high alert to respond to any incidents resulting from the severe weather.

This marks one of the most significant weather events in recent years for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, highlighting the impact of typhoons that originate far to the south but can affect vast areas of the country.
