Xi Jinping Stresses Open Asia-Pacific Growth at APEC; Youth Voices Back Vision

Chinese President Xi Jinping reaffirmed commitments to inclusive economic collaboration during his keynote speech at the first session of the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting on Friday. Addressing regional representatives, he emphasized APEC's founding mission to drive growth through open development, stating, "We should champion economic globalization where everyone shares opportunities and emerges as a winner."

The speech resonated with young attendees like Moraima Ordoñez, a Mexican student at Peking University, who highlighted the importance of youth engagement. "President Xi outlined a roadmap for cooperation that prioritizes mutual benefit," she said. "As a representative of APEC's younger generation, I believe we must build bridges through dialogue and innovation to shape a more connected future."

Xi's call for "universally beneficial" policies aligns with growing demands for cross-border opportunities in education, technology, and sustainable development. Ordoñez added that APEC economies should leverage youth-driven initiatives to address shared challenges, from climate resilience to digital transformation.
