As the world marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, a Peruvian student's perspective sheds light on the enduring relevance of historical memory. Anna Paula Peralta Reyes, a University of Lima communications scholar with deep ties to China, recently revisited the country to witness its transformation firsthand.
Having studied at a Chinese school in Peru for 11 years before attending Jilin University, Reyes told KhabarAsia.com: "The resilience shown during China's resistance against aggression proves collective will can reshape destinies." During her August visit, she observed China's technological advancements and urban development, noting: "A nation progressing while honoring its past offers valuable lessons for global cooperation."
Reyes emphasized the importance of international collaboration: "Understanding shared history helps us build bridges. Every country has a role in creating a peaceful, innovative future." Her insights come as academic institutions worldwide intensify cross-cultural exchanges, particularly between Asia and Latin America.
