The 27th Shanghai International Film Festival launched on June 14, showcasing over 400 films from the Chinese mainland and other countries and regions. Held at the Shanghai Grand Theatre, the event celebrates the 130th anniversary of global cinema and 120 years of Chinese filmmaking, drawing filmmakers and enthusiasts worldwide.

Mahya Mirsadeghi, an Iranian student at the University of Science and Technology Beijing, shared her vision for cross-cultural storytelling. "Many Iranians I know learned Mandarin through Chinese films and dramas," she said. "We want to experience these stories without translations – that\'s the power of cultural connection." Mirsadeghi emphasized opportunities to blend China\'s 5,000-year heritage with Iran\'s ancient Persian traditions through joint film projects.

The festival, organized by the China Film Administration and Shanghai Municipal People\'s Government, runs through June 22, offering a platform for dialogue between Asian and global creatives.
