An explosion occurred at a department store in Taichung, located in the central part of the Taiwan region, at around 11 a.m. on Thursday, resulting in at least five deaths and 26 injuries. Local fire authorities rushed to the scene to carry out rescue operations and initiated major casualty notifications.
A CGTN stringer visited the explosion site and interviewed nearby residents, who recalled the incident and shared the current situation. One of the residents described the scene as chaotic and stressed the need to save lives.
