As 2024 draws to a close, the streets of Seoul are usually bustling with holiday cheer. Families gather, friends reunite, and the aroma of festive meals fills the air. However, this year, the atmosphere is different. Political turmoil has cast a shadow over traditional celebrations in the Republic of Korea.
Dongdong, a pet shop owner in the heart of Seoul, feels the weight of these challenges. “This year has been quite challenging for us,” she shares. “Our usual traditions have been disrupted, and it’s been difficult for everyone.”
