Huanghua Port in Cangzhou City, Hebei Province, China’s second-largest coal exporting port, has marked a significant milestone in its international trade development. In May 2024, the port officially launched its first China-Europe freight train route, opening new avenues for global commerce.
Leveraging its advantageous geographical position, Huanghua Port has introduced an innovative “sea-rail combined transportation” model. This new logistics channel seamlessly integrates maritime and rail transport, greatly shortening loading and unloading times while reducing logistics costs. The initiative is expected to enhance trade efficiency between China and Europe, fostering stronger economic ties.
Dovletmyrat Rahimov, a foreign teacher from Hebei International Studies University, recently visited Huanghua Port to gain insights into China’s expanding foreign trade. Impressed by the port’s development, he remarked, “It is not only a transportation hub but also a bridge connecting the world. I have witnessed the development of China and also hope that my country can benefit more from it.”
The launch of the China-Europe freight train service from Huanghua Port represents a significant step in enhancing international connectivity. By streamlining logistics and reducing costs, the “sea-rail combined transportation” model underscores China’s commitment to facilitating global trade and economic collaboration.
