Chilean Student Advocates for China-Chile Wind Energy Collaboration

At the 2024 G20 Summit held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on November 18 and 19, themed “Building a Just World and a Sustainable Planet,” international voices called for global cooperation in sustainable development.

Among these voices is Raquel Herrera, a Chilean international student currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) at Chongqing University in China.

Living in the Chinese mainland, Raquel has been deeply impressed by China’s rapid advancements in wind energy. From snowy plateaus to coastal cities, she has witnessed the rise of large wind turbines and significant technological breakthroughs.

Raquel hopes that Chile and China can strengthen their cooperation in the field of wind energy to enhance Chile’s wind turbine technology and contribute to global sustainability efforts.

Speaking about the role of youth in sustainable development, Raquel believes that the younger generation should propose more innovative ideas in environmental protection. She encourages young people worldwide to collaborate on reducing pollution through technology and other initiatives.

“The future lies in our hands,” Raquel remarked. “By working together across borders, we can create a more sustainable planet for all.”
