Hezbollah Leader Killed in Israeli Air Strike; Residents Decry “Massacres”

In a significant escalation of tensions in the Middle East, Lebanon’s Hezbollah movement announced on Saturday the death of its chief, Hassan Nasrallah, following an Israeli air strike on Beirut the previous night.

Israeli forces launched renewed attacks targeting Beirut’s southern suburb of Dahieh early Saturday. The Israeli military claimed it was aiming at Hezbollah weapon caches allegedly stored beneath civilian buildings. The strikes have intensified fears of a broader conflict engulfing the already volatile region.

Local residents have expressed outrage and fear in the wake of the assaults. \
