An Israeli airstrike on Beirut’s southern suburbs on Friday has left 14 people dead and numerous others injured, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry.
Hezbollah confirmed that Ibrahim Akil, the acting commander of its elite Radwan Force, was among those killed in the strike.
Two hours after the attack, local residents expressed their outrage and determination. Hassan Alian, a resident near the strike site, stated, “Every injury to a Lebanese citizen strengthens our resolve.” Another resident, Dana Alian, remarked, “We stand with Gaza, and it would be unwise for Israel to escalate into a full-scale war with Lebanon.”
The attack has heightened tensions in the region, with many fearing an escalation into a broader conflict.
