The 19th Changchun Film Festival is currently underway in Changchun City from August 28 to September 1, celebrating its theme “New Era, New Cradle, New Power.” Among the attendees is Eakvixay Tran, a young student from Laos, embarking on a captivating journey into the heart of Chinese cinema.
Exploring the birthplace of Chinese film at the renowned Changchun Film Studio, Tran delved into the rich history and evolution of Chinese cinema. The studio, a symbolic cradle of China’s film industry, offered him an immersive experience as he wandered through museum artifacts, art exhibitions, and interactive film displays.
“In that museum, they show a lot of historical moments of filmmaking in China and it made me learn more and want to know more about Chinese culture as a whole,” Tran shared enthusiastically.
Through hands-on exploration of props and sets, Tran gained insights into the development processes that have shaped Chinese filmmaking over the decades. He also reflected on his favorite Chinese films, characters, and directors, deepening his appreciation for the art form.
