Firefighting efforts are underway at the site of a tragic plane crash in Kathmandu, Nepal. On Wednesday, a Saurya Airlines aircraft crashed at Tribhuvan International Airport, resulting in the deaths of eighteen people and leaving one person hospitalized.
“The plane was scheduled to undergo maintenance for a month beginning Thursday … It is unclear why it crashed,” said Mukesh Khanal, marketing head of Saurya Airlines, according to Reuters.
CGTN reported from the scene, showing police cordoning off the wreckage as firefighters battled the flames.
