Meet Fereshteh: The Iranian Youth Boosting Iran-China Cultural Exchange

For Iranian youth Fereshteh Mokhtari, known as Mengjie in China, bridging the cultural gap between Iran and China is more than a passion—it's a lifelong mission. Since she began studying Chinese in Tehran in 2017, Fereshteh has been captivated by the richness of Chinese culture.

“From the moment I started learning Chinese, I felt a deep connection with the culture,” she shared. “It opened up a new world for me, and I wanted to share that with others.”

After graduating from university, Fereshteh pursued her dream by becoming a translator and tour guide. In this role, she not only assists Chinese visitors in Iran but also introduces them to the depths of Iranian history and culture.

“Being a tour guide allows me to showcase Iran's rich heritage to Chinese people,” she explained. “I was thrilled to see so many of them interested in our history.”

Beyond her work in tourism, Fereshteh creates engaging vlogs to introduce Iranians to Chinese culture. Through her videos, she explores various aspects of Chinese life, from traditional festivals to modern daily life, aiming to build a bridge of understanding between the two nations.

“I believe that by sharing our cultures, we can foster mutual respect and friendship,” she said. “My goal is to bring our people closer together.”

Fereshteh's efforts reflect a growing interest among youth in both countries to deepen cultural exchanges and strengthen ties. Her story exemplifies how individual passion can contribute to greater understanding and cooperation on a global scale.
