Indians Express Optimism for Future Cooperation with China at SCO Summit

The 24th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Heads of State Council meeting, held on July 3 and 4 in Astana, Kazakhstan, has sparked discussions in India about prospects for future cooperation with China. Residents of Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of the southern state of Kerala, shared their impressions of China and expressed hope for strengthened ties between the two nations, both key members of the SCO.

Kiran Kumar K., an assistant professor at the Gulati Institute of Finance and Taxation, highlighted China’s remarkable economic growth. “China’s growth rate over the years has been truly impressive,” he remarked. “There is much we can learn from their development strategies.”

Amina Reem V.P., a university student, expressed her fascination with Chinese philosophy. “I’m particularly interested in the concept of Yin and Yang,” she said. “It represents a balance between the good and the bad, and I believe this philosophy has much to offer in terms of understanding harmony in society.”

Many locals voiced optimism about the potential for collaboration in areas such as trade, education, and cultural exchange. With both countries playing significant roles in the SCO, there is anticipation that mutual cooperation will lead to regional stability and prosperity.

The sentiments from Thiruvananthapuram reflect a broader desire among Indian citizens to enhance bilateral relations with China, focusing on shared interests and common goals within the framework of the SCO.
