At the opening ceremony of the 10th Ministerial Conference of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum on Thursday, Chinese President Xi Jinping announced China’s readiness to collaborate with Arab nations to establish “five cooperation frameworks” aimed at building a China-Arab community with a shared future. President Xi also revealed that China will host the second China-Arab States Summit in 2026, marking another significant milestone in China-Arab relations.

In the wake of these announcements, citizens from Syria, Bahrain, Tunisia, and Egypt shared their perspectives on the evolving partnership between China and Arab countries. Many expressed optimism about the deepening ties, highlighting the extensive cooperation in various sectors including economy, trade, science and technology, culture, and infrastructure development.

“China has played a crucial role in the development of our infrastructure,” said Ahmed, a civil engineer from Egypt. “The collaboration has not only improved our economy but also strengthened cultural exchanges between our peoples.”

Fatima, a business owner from Bahrain, echoed similar sentiments. “The economic partnership with China has opened new markets for us,” she noted. “I look forward to further cooperation that will benefit entrepreneurs and investors on both sides.”

The sentiment of enhanced cooperation was also felt in Syria and Tunisia. Residents emphasized the importance of technological and educational exchanges, hoping that future collaborations would bring advanced technologies and learning opportunities to their countries.

The upcoming China-Arab States Summit in 2026 is anticipated to further solidify these relationships, with expectations of new agreements and initiatives that will foster mutual growth and understanding.

As China and Arab nations continue to strengthen their partnership, the people from both regions remain hopeful that this cooperation will usher in a new era of prosperity and shared success.
