Bulgarian Experts Praise Xi Jinping’s European Visit as Positive Signal

Chinese President Xi Jinping’s state visits to France, Serbia, and Hungary from May 5 to 10 have been hailed by Bulgarian experts and residents as a significant boost to China-Europe relations. This marks President Xi’s first trip to Europe in nearly five years, injecting new impetus into global peace and development.

To gauge reactions to the visit, interviews were conducted with residents and experts in neighboring countries, including the United Kingdom, Italy, and Bulgaria. Zahari Zahariev, chairman of the Bulgaria National Association for the Belt and Road, expressed optimism about the outcomes of the trip. He stated that the visit sends a very positive signal for enhancing cooperation between China and European nations.

Bulgarian resident Nikolay Chadarov shared similar sentiments, highlighting the great potential in the relationship between China and Bulgaria. “The two countries can exchange cultural experiences and learn from each other,” he said, emphasizing the mutual benefits of strengthened ties.

The visits are seen as a strategic move to foster closer diplomatic and economic relationships between China and Europe. By engaging with key European partners, China aims to promote collaboration on various fronts, including trade, infrastructure, and cultural exchange.
