Korean Scholar Urges Global Cooperation at APEC Summit

The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO Summit is underway in San Francisco from November 14 to 16, under the theme “Creating a Resilient and Sustainable Future for All.” The conference highlights the importance of interconnectedness, innovation, and inclusivity.

Pil Hwa Yoo, a marketing professor at the SKK Graduate School of Business, Sungkyunkwan University in South Korea, shared his insights on the summit’s focus areas and the need for strengthened cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region. He emphasized that topics such as economic recovery, climate change, high inflation, and aging populations should be at the forefront of discussions this year.

“Global issues cannot be solved by one country alone because every issue is interconnected and interrelated,” Yoo stated. He underscored the necessity for all countries to collaborate in addressing global challenges. “That’s what being interconnected is all about,” he added.

Yoo’s perspective aligns with the summit’s theme, suggesting that cooperation and mutual support are essential for tackling the complex issues facing the region. By fostering collaboration, the Asia-Pacific economies can work towards a resilient and sustainable future for all.
